It can be a minefield.
When you’re entering a world that you don’t know about, where do you start?
It’s a struggle for any beginner in any field, just knowing where to turn to.
The great thing about the world we live in now is we aren’t short of avenues to find what we are looking for.
And if you’re looking for guidance on how to do yoga, how a session should flow or just learn the basics of some postures, then YouTube is a great place for any beginner to start.
So, a nice and short post for you today where I bring you four channels for you to follow.
Yoga with Tim
This was where I started to learn about the world of Yoga.
Tim’s channel is great and is full of challenges for you today. It’s more about postures, rather than Vinyasa flows which makes this an ideal start for someone to dip their toe into yoga.
He often uses other yogis in his videos so he can focus on guiding you through cues and proper alignment.
Yoga with Adriene
You can’t go very far asking for guidance online as to where to turn without someone mentioning Adriene.
She has over 5m subscribers to her channel and is a huge resource to follow.
Every style is on here and sessions with specific themes and focuses make this channel indispensable.
I actually thought this channel was aimed at people doing martial arts…I was wrong!
But what we do have here is a great channel with a 30 day beginner series that doesn’t just focus on one style of Yoga.
Great introduction, check it out.
Man Flow Yoga
What I love about Deans work is that it helps guys who feel that yoga is a bit too airy-fairy for them break down those barriers and see the benefits it can bring.
It was one of the blockers for me when I was first starting out, thinking I needed to be deeply spiritual and hippy-like but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Any guy wanting to find out what yoga can do for them, this should be your first starting point.
I hope you find these of value, let me know which channel appeals to you.
In a bit.
