Alo Moves review

Updated: Oct 7, 2019

When I first started, I didn’t know what the hell I was doing!

I didn’t know how to structure a yoga session, let alone a number of them.

I guess that’s when I just stretched, thinking that was it.

I found some YouTube videos and followed them but it was still a bit...well...bitty.

It didn’t feel like I was training anything or part of a program, was just a bit random and as hoc.

Then, I discovered Alo Moves.

What is Alo Moves?

Well, it’s a subscription service thats full of programs (not just one off workouts), individual sessions and for every duration and style you can think of.

What’s simply invaluable about it if you’re serious about yoga is the yogis that we’re learning from are some of the best on the planet.

Ok but if these yogis are world class, how can a beginner do them?

This is the mistake I made.

I didn’t realise that they actually filter and categorise workouts and programs by how easy or advanced it is.

So I ended up doing something quite intense when I could barely side plank!

I looked at the iPad thinking “this can’t be right, I do CrossFit for God’s sake, I should be able to do this!”

At that point, I saw that that they categorise in four categories...

  • Beginner

  • Moderate

  • Intermediate

  • Advanced

So it’s easy to match a program to your current ability.

They also categorise on the same four tier system by intensity. Want to get a sweat on and have a workout? Go for the highest intensity!

How long is each session?

If you only have half an hour in the day, that’s cool.

There are loads of sessions that are half an hour long.

On the flip side, if you can do an hour, there are sessions in there too.

So there are all these instructors with all these sessions and programs. How do I find what I’m looking for?

The search function allows you to filter pretty much everything...

  • Duration

  • Instructor

  • Style (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin)

  • Intensity

  • Capability level

  • Type (such as yoga, fitness or skill)

What are you waiting for?

Full disclosure, I get nothing for recommending this.

This isn’t an affiliate link where I wanna commission.

It’s $20 p/month (so about £14, roughly) and you get a two week trial.

It’s just that good, anyone starting out should do this. It’s invaluable.

Give it a shot, let me know what you think!
